Description:

Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, enhancing insulin release, and reducing glucagon levels.

o   Once-daily oral therapy

o   Well-tolerated with low risk of hypoglycemia

o   Can be used as monotherapy or with other agents

Precautions:

Use cautiously in renal impairment. Not recommended for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
